A Postal Service union arbitration victory will mean the creation of 9,000 union-backed clerk jobs within the next 90 days, according to an announcement.
The decision stems from a plan by the Postal Service—PostPlan—to reduce the hours of operation at many post offices by two, four or six hours a day and replace some postmasters with non-career employees or part-time career employees.
