The Minnesota Department of Administration awarded a contract to Northstar, a subsidiary of Ennis Inc., to supply vital records certificate paper for the State of Minnesota. The vital records paper will be printed at Northstar’s Brooklyn Park, Minn., location.
One of the nation’s leading suppliers of both negotiable and non-negotiable MICR documents, print services and distribution services to the financial industry, Northstar will partner with AmeriTech Inc. to fulfill this contract, just as it does to supply vital records paper to many jurisdictions in New York and North Carolina. The state contract allows all 22 vital records offices to place orders and purchase paper from a single source, which maximizes volume pricing benefits, as well as insures the uniformity of the state’s 500,000 annual birth and death certificates issued.
A NASPO-accredited printer, Northstar is able to provide security features without needing to raise or emboss the state seal. Instead, the company will incorporate multiple security features, including a single overt security thread visible as a line that will run from the top to the bottom of the paper as required by the contract.
