Pat Flynn Appointed President and COO of Continental Datalabel, Rich Filip Appointed Executive Vice President
Continental Datalabel (CDL), Elgin, Ill., has announced the appointment of Pat Flynn as the new president and chief operations officer. He will assume responsibilities immediately and will succeed Tim Flynn, who has moved into a strategic role on the board of directors. Pat has been part of the CDL team for 26 years, and had previously held the position of director of western operations before being promoted to president and COO.
“First, I would like to personally thank our valued distributor partners for their continued support of CDL,” said Pat Flynn. “As the market changes for all of us on the trade manufacturing side of the business, the changes have been monumental for our partners. We intend to make updates to equipment, and products and services, to help our distributor partners be the best they can be and offer the end-consumers products that work well, and look good whether on a box for shipping or directly on their product.”
Pat has had a major part in the creation of new products and improving CDL’s manufacturing processes. His most recent project of implementing a new ERP and CRM integration has already provided great enhancements to the way information is stored and shared throughout the company and delivers new improvements to business insights.
In addition, Continental Datalabel announced Rich Filip has been appointed executive vice president, effective immediately. Filip has been part of the CDL team for 29 years, and previously held the position as director of sales before being promoted to executive vice president.
“I am excited to accept the new position of executive vice president of CDL and will lead the team into the next stage of our strategic development,” Filip said. “I feel this new opportunity puts me in a position to have more impact in expanding the scope of our distributor partnerships and keeping our team focused on the total distributor experience.”
Filip’s recent efforts include working with Pat Flynn on the strategic planning of CDL’s future development. A significant contribution the pair has already initiated is adding new, state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, and is in the process of opening the company’s newest facility in Dallas (March 2018).
Established in 1952, CDL continues as a family-owned and -operated business. With the transition of Tim and Tom Flynn into board positions, CDL moves into its third generation with Pat Flynn and Rich Filip, who are cousins. The pair is excited to continue the family business, and as they prepare for the future, they are happy to see the fourth generation developing at CDL.
