Vistaprint N.V. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Albumprinter, a privately held Dutch photo book and photo product company, for 60 million euros payable at closing and up to an additional 5 million euros based on a performance based earn-out. This acquisition is in line with Vistaprint's recently announced strategy to be more proactive in its evaluation of acquisition opportunities in adjacent markets.

Promo Marketing, a sister publication of Print Professional, has compiled a new Top 50 Suppliers ranking. Despite stricter regulations on the safety and sales of promotional products, 2010 and the first half of 2011 have shown a sales resurgence in the industry. The returning fiscal strength of the industry is evident from the list, which is based on revenue numbers from 2010. Overall, the top 50 suppliers raked in more than $500 million more than they did in 2009. These companies have increased their margins, upped the interest in their products and committed themselves to making it through the financial crises stronger than before, and they are being rewarded for it.

American Banknote Corporation, parent of the ABnote Group, located in Fort Lee, N.J., announced Timothy Wright has joined the company as vice president of product marketing. In this position, Wright will direct ABnote’s global efforts to package existing regional solutions for resale within the group, and also direct new product initiatives through technology partnerships and alliances. Throughout his 20-plus year career, Wright has achieved a strong track record of piloting explosive sales growth in vendors of payment cards, smart cards and payment card security.
