Barton Nelson, a commercial printing firm, will invest more than $15.4 million to expand its operations center, adding 5,000 square feet to its facility in Kansas City, Missouri, with plans to create 65 jobs over the next five years.

To assist Barton Nelson with its expansion, the Department of Economic Development, the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City and the City of Kansas City authorized a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.

PaperPlus—the stores division of Unisource Worldwide—continues to embark on an aggressive expansion program across the United States, opening a new store location in Kansas City, Kan. The new PaperPlus Kansas City store follows the recently opened PaperPlus store locations in Indianapolis, Seattle and Charlotte, N.C.

Control Printing Group, a leading Midwest provider of custom branded print and promotional products, and product fulfillment services, has changed its name to Control Group, effective Oct. 8, 2012.

Promo Marketing, a sister publication of Print Professional, has compiled a new Top 50 Suppliers ranking. Despite stricter regulations on the safety and sales of promotional products, 2010 and the first half of 2011 have shown a sales resurgence in the industry. The returning fiscal strength of the industry is evident from the list, which is based on revenue numbers from 2010. Overall, the top 50 suppliers raked in more than $500 million more than they did in 2009. These companies have increased their margins, upped the interest in their products and committed themselves to making it through the financial crises stronger than before, and they are being rewarded for it.

Vibrant Graphics, a digital printing company in Milwaukee, has hired Jennifer Kreuser to take on the company's marketing efforts. Her position is effective Friday.
