Admore's Halloween Promotion Wins at the Gold Ink Awards
Admore’s 8th annual Halloween promotion, titled “Secrets of the Mummy,” this year, has been taking customers on a creative quest for custom presentation folders and the industry award shows by storm. Admore received yet another award for this acclaimed print piece at yesterday's 2011 Gold Ink Awards and Hall of Fame Gala held in Chicago. Admore, a division of Midlothian, Texas-based Ennis, Inc., is a leading manufacturer of folders, binders, portfolios and other presentation products.
“Secrets of the Mummy” has been recognized as a remarkable piece in part because of the back story involved in its construction. Unable to find a suitable mummy photo, Admore created its own. Medical gauze was dyed with a coffee/tea mixture and wrapped around cardboard. Sunken eyes made of polyester plate material were added and then the creation was photographed.
The 11,000 customers who received the interactive custom die-cut folder were able to unwrap their Mummy and reveal secrets that included special offers. A piece of real gauze was attached to each folder to enhance the overall effect.
Lisa Goebel, marketing manager at Admore, said, “This piece should be seen to truly be appreciated. Just when our customers think they’ve seen all you can do with custom presentations folders, we surprise them.”
The annual Gold Ink Awards, produced by Printing Impressions magazine (a sister publication of Print Professional), salutes the industry’s leading print work and is regarded as one of the most prestigious print competitions. This year, more than 1,000 entries were received in 46 categories. Winning pieces are chosen based on print quality, technical difficulty and overall visual effect. Admore has previously won a 2011 Peak Award from the Print Services Distribution Association (PSDA) and three awards at the 2011 Gallery of Superb Printing hosted by The Detroit Club of Printing House Craftsmen, all for the “Secrets of the Mummy” campaign.
