Attitude Adjustment
“Life’s battles don’t always go to the stronger or faster man. But sooner or later the man who wins, is the man who thinks he can.”
Vince Lombardi

For as long as I have been involved in this industry, it seems the internal conversations are laden with pessimism and a sort of downward-spiral mentality. I’m confident this will be the year to change all of that around. Paralleling last month’s Top 100 Manufacturers issue, this year’s Top 100 Distributors issue proves the “you can do it” attitude is paying off. Profits on the distribution side are on the rise, and I am hoping this momentum shift will be long-lasting.
This issue’s top performers will not be a surprise to anyone, although interestingly enough we have some new giants jumping into the game and rattling the numbers up a bit. Regardless of size, all reports are pointing in a positive direction. All industries go through periods of correction and redirection of energies and resources. The print paper distribution game is no different, and we are adapting.
Whether you are a member of a “Goliath” company or part of a more modest “David” team, the battle continues. But, with a smile on my face, I am hopeful that it can be downhill for awhile.
