With North American headquarters in Bellevue, Wash., Captaris presents Alchemy document management software, offering a digital archive and a familiar folder-based user experience for secure storage and quick retrieval of any document type.
Specially designed for small and mid-size businesses, Alchemy consolidates documents from various systems, and delivers them via multiple delivery channels, including the Web, CD and DVD. To provide additional flexibility, the software runs on a server, as well as a stand-alone desktop configuration, and it can be deployed over the Web for remote users and self-service scenarios.
Alchemy provides scanning, imaging, archiving, fax archiving and electronic records management capabilities, along with integration and distribution functions to improve document security and to meet records compliance objectives. The upshot is hard-dollar cost savings from reduced expenses on supplies, floor space and labor costs.
There are several easy options for capturing documents into the Alchemy archive: scan paper in from just about any document scanner; drag and drop files from Windows Explorer; submit documents from within Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and add the entire contents of a network folder.
Alchemy is effective for securing, indexing and managing scanned paper documents, faxes, e-mails, PDFs, computer reports and anything else in its final form. The product minimizes the need to invest in additional IT resources, and supports many scanning and capture systems. Built on Microsoft technology, it offers integration options for Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SharePoint.
