CPI Card Group Captures ?lan Award
CPI Card Group, Littleton, Colo., has received the Élan Award for the best non-financial card design for the card manufacturing excellence category. CPI's winning entry was a Starbucks Coffee Company stored value gift card featuring animated artwork of a Vespa scooter and patrons drinking coffee outside an Italian bistro.
CPI Card Group also was chosen as one of two finalists for the People's Choice Élan Award for Card Manufacturing for its pink glitter Aeropostale gift card. This card is fashioned with a unique particulate PVC, which is produced exclusively by Reno Plastics, a sister company of CPI based in Reno, Nev.
In other news, CPI Card Group has hired Jay Schwisow as its national accounts manager. Schwisow was the former vice president of Information Systems and vice president of sales and marketing at Teraco, Inc.
As CPI says hello to Schwisow, it says goodbye to Jim Roberts and Jerry Romano, who are both retiring. For the past six years, Roberts has served as an account manager for the North Mid-West region. Romano has spent 34 years in the card industry, most recently working with CPI's ISG customers.
