Ennis Reports Second Quarter Fiscal 2006 Results

Ennis, Midlothian, Texas, recently reported financial results for the fiscal quarter and six months ended Aug. 31.

For the second quarter of fiscal 2006, the company's net sales were $148.1 million, compared to $73.4 million in the comparable quarter last year—an increase of $74.7 million. For the six-month period, its net sales were $297.2 million, compared to $139.1 million the prior year. The company's net income of $10.6 million for the quarter ended Aug. 31 increased by $5.2 million above the prior year's quarterly level of $5.4 million, and by $11.2 million in the current six-month period from the prior year.
