The Printing & Imaging Association of MidAmerica recently presented Lenexa, Kansas-based Gill Studios with four “Best of Category” awards at the PIA 2010 Graphex Graphic Excellence Awards Gala. Entries were judged first on technical complexity and the quality of printing, then on design features and overall appearance.
The four prize-winning offset and digitally printed submissions showcased Gill’s long-standing history of producing quality products suitable for high honors. Marriott Anchorage commissioned a room service menu intended to hang on doorknobs. Turner Network Television designed a custom die-cut magnet to highlight six of its top television drama shows and complement its online promotions. Jeff Denham for U.S. Congress created eye-stopping signage to draw voters’ attention to the candidate. Stylesense, a shoes and accessories company based out of Ontario, Canada, fashioned a double-sided static cling vinyl decal to garner shoppers’ attention in retail settings.
To ensure a fair and unbiased awards competition, all entries were judged by a team of printing experts from outside Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. All “Best of Category” entries will be entered in the national Printing Industries of America Premier Print Awards.
