Print+Promo, the Philadelphia-based leading source of business strategies for distributor sales professionals, recently concluded its final Distributor Connect of 2019. For this event, which ran Nov. 4 through 6, distributor attendees traveled to the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay in scenic San Diego, where they were given the chance to build business and relationships with leading industry suppliers.
“What makes our events successful are the quality people that attend and the great format of the event, which lends itself to the ideal atmosphere for suppliers and distributors to sit down and find solutions that work on both of their behalves,” Jim Harvie, publisher of Print+Promo, remarked.
Distributor Connect events are a series of one-on-one, 20-minute meetings designed to grow partnerships between suppliers and distributors, with a host of additional networking events mixed in. A Welcome Reception, catered breakfasts and lunch, and a private offsite dinner at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station, are just a few examples of what our California guests experienced.
Unlike your traditional trade shows, where face time with suppliers is nearly impossible to get, Distributor Connect provides an intimate setting where industry peers can brainstorm and solve common pain points. Suppliers already have information about distributors, their company and challenges ahead of time, enabling them to speak intelligently with potential partners about innovative ideas.
Now that we’ve given you our pitch, it’s time to let the experts speak.
“The Print+Promo Distributor Connect event is by far one of the best values out there for distributors,” said Tim English, vice president of sales and operations for Superior Business Solutions. “The amount of ideas and products I was able to bring back to my team was honestly shocking. With the format setup, I was able to dig deeper into what my team is experiencing out on the street, and this allowed the vendors the opportunity to bring different solutions to us. I believe with the relationships I was able to build we will find better ways to help the end-users save time and money in their day to day operations—and at the end of the day that is what we are there for!”
The format was also a selling point for first-time attendee and GO2 Partners Senior Sales Executive Tim Dust.
“I found the event to be very valuable,” Dust shared. “The one-on-one meeting format was far more effective than a traditional trade show event. I came away with new manufacturer relationships, additional product knowledge and, most importantly, new ideas.”
On the supplier side, similar themes about partnerships permeated the meetings.
“[Print+Promo’s Distributor Connect] definitely exceeded my expectations” said Sabrina Cherry, director of strategic accounts for Flesh Co. “I made some great contacts and definitely built some relationships that I look forward to growing.”
