Industry Veteran Joel Green Passes Away
Joel Green, an industry veteran of more than 50 years, passed away on Aug. 18 after a long illness.
Starting in 1960 as a production manager in a forms plant in New York City, Green’s natural sales ability quickly landed him out in the field where he promptly broke all company sales records. Shortly thereafter he formed his distributorship Greenline Printing, renamed Print Data Corp in 1984.
In 2003, Green handed off the day-to-day management of the business and the CEO title to his son, Jeffrey Green. He remained active in the company as a top-producing sales executive, despite his illness, until only a few weeks before his passing.
In 2008, Jeffrey Green merged Print Data Corp with East Coast Distributing forming PDEC, a leading New York metro area print, paper and supplies company.
Green will long be remembered by customers, suppliers and employees as a generous, good-natured person who always managed to see the bright side of any situation.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis, with whom he traveled extensively, two children and four grandchildren.
