International Paper Announces Leadership Changes
John Faraci, chairman and CEO of Memphis, Tennesee-based International Paper, recently announced the following organizational changes:
Wayne Brafford has been named senior vice president of the company's printing and communications papers division, which includes uncoated freesheet papers for offices, commercial printing, envelopes, tablets, custom and stock forms, file folders, tags, tickets, index cards, poster board and specialty items, as well as market pulps used for paper and fluff products.
Brafford joined International Paper in 1975 in the wood products and forest resources division. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of the company's industrial packaging division, consisting of containerboard and kraft, U.S. container, and coated paperboard.
Paul Herbert, who joined the company in 1992, has been named to the position of senior vice president of strategic initiatives. In his new role, Herbert will be responsible for developing, prioritizing and implementing global improvement projects and working closely with all of
International Paper's global business leaders.
Carol Roberts, a 24-year veteran, has been named senior vice president of the company's packaging solutions business. In her new position, Roberts is responsible for one of International Paper's key platform businesses, which includes containerboard, coated paperboard and container--Americas. In her most recent role, Roberts served as vice president of industrial packaging.
In other company news, Robert M. Amen, president, has announced his decision to retire after a brief transition period.
Amen has worked for International Paper for 26 years in a number of capacities. "Robert has been a friend and colleague and we will miss having him as part of our senior leadership team," Faraci said. "He has played a significant role in developing our global strategy, and more recently, in helping us shape our transformation strategy. I thank him for his years of outstanding service and wish him success in the future."
