mystery product revealed
Bensenville, Illinois-based The Envelope Express is a trade-only envelope manufacturer specializing in rush service and custom solutions, including this month’s mystery product—mini envelopes. The mini envelopes are available in a flap design with or without adhesive, as well as an open-end style for applications such as card holders.
Richard Kuebler, sales representative, explained that it is the RM model of a Champion Miniature Rotary press that produces the products in a wide variety of sizes and styles. “You must have the machinery to produce these specialty envelopes, so it isn’t all that common a capability out there,” he said. “We do get a decent number of requests for mini envelopes.”
Mini envelopes are made from paper and synthetic substrates, including high-quality, custom stocks with solid inside tints and tear-resistant papers such as Tyvek and PaperTyger. Applications include currency, opticals, small coins, pharmaceuticals, event tickets, stamps, plastic cards, various promotional products and scrapbooking.
The minimum envelope is 111⁄16x13⁄4˝. The maximum open end is 5x43⁄4˝; the maximum open side is 31⁄8x51⁄2˝; and the largest single side seam is 4x43⁄4˝. Church-envelope sizes range from 13⁄4x35⁄8˝ up to 31⁄8x51⁄2˝. Options include four-color process, up to six spot colors and PMS colors. The minimum order is 1,000 pieces. Finished products come boxed or shrinkwrapped.
