MACtac’s PrintCover Overlaminating Film Protects Short-Term Graphics
While all graphics—indoor or outdoor—need protection from the elements, sometimes marrying exceptional performance with short-term cost is a challenge. Through the development of PrintCover Overlaminating Films from Stow, Ohio-based MACtac Graphic Products, there is now a solution that provides the right price to value for short-term laminating projects.
As an extension to the company’s industry-leading line of Permacolor overlaminates, PrintCover features an excellent advanced adhesive system that is ideal for inkjet printed – especially UV printed – short-term graphics, such as point-of-purchase signs, menus and other promotional graphics.
“One of the most compelling features of MACtac’s PrintCover overlaminate is that it uses the most advanced adhesion technology, which provides superior wet-out on UV printed graphics,” said Mary Ann Kucera, MACtac Graphic Products. “It is a fact that UV inkjet printing is one of the most challenging inkjet ink systems to laminate smoothly. PrintCover is revolutionary because it was designed to tackle the most challenging print surfaces on the market, to assist with production turnaround and to overcome a gap that our customers identified in the products available to them.”
The new overlaminate has a tough polyester liner, which, unlike paper, eliminates rips and tears, creates a super-smooth adhesive coating for glass-like lamination and decreases lamination process time. PrintCover is a 1.0-mil polyester overlaminating film with a very clear, permanent acrylic adhesive, and an ultra-smooth polyester liner allowing for true color representation. It is available in both high-gloss and low-glare matte finishes and is designed to protect indoor and outdoor short-term graphics from UV light, moisture, scratching or scuffing.
“PrintCover is an exceptional value addition to MACtac customers and an incredible addition to our Permacolor family,” Kucera added. “The adhesive was designed with the same durable materials as other products in our Permacolor line and it was developed for a specific purpose and customer need – a cost-effective solution for short-term graphics.”
