Mohawk Via Printing and Paper Ventures Across Americana
“The American point of view—expansiveness, honesty, plain speaking, compassion, diversity and courage—tied in perfectly with the attributes of Mohawk Via,” said Sean Adams, AdamsMorioka, on designing Cohoes, New York-based Mohawk’s newest promotion, Mohawk Via Printing and Paper.
From the cover’s triangle pattern, designed to reference American quilt making, to Carol Highsmith’s images from the Library of Congress and historical western landscapes by Albert Bierstadt, Printing and Paper represents the best of Americana with a mix of cultures, open spaces and travel.
Similar to all Mohawk Via promotions, Mohawk Via Printing and Paper is educational and useful. “Mohawk Via Printing and Paper demonstrates how Via can handle high-end imagery such as fine art and critical photography. The promotion also has a frequently asked questions section about the paper itself and printing tips to maximize the paper’s potential,” said Jane Monast, director of communications, Mohawk Fine Papers.
AdamsMorioka strategically used Via’s textures and finishes to add dimension and emotion to the imagery while showcasing the printability of the papers: A black-and-white duotone photo of a basketball player shows Via Satin’s ability to handle deep blacks with fine detail, Via Laid is used to add texture to a painting on the side of a building and Via Linen gives an old-world feel to a 1751 map of Virginia and Maryland.
Mohawk Via Printing and Paper incorporates a handy list of Mohawk Via’s 35 shades and seven finishes, as well as a chart that showcases all of the envelopes available through Mohawk’s new envelope stocking program. A wide selection of Mohawk Via envelopes are available for same day shipping. Non-stocked items can be ordered through Mohawk’s new quick turn program.
“Mohawk Via is manufactured to meet the highest standards of performance. It is an everyday value paper that performs consistently and produces spectacular results. And, Mohawk Via Printing and Paper shows how great value can look,” said Monast.
Printing and Paper was printed by Primary Color, Los Angeles, using a 20 micron Staccato screening.
