Neenah Paper Develops New Transfer Papers
Neenah Paper, based in Alpharetta, Ga., has developed three new heat transfer papers, offering printers, distributors, artists and designers new options for the design, manufacture and sale of decorated t-shirts and other items. The three new heat transfer papers are IMAGE CLIP Laser Dark Heat Transfer Papers, IMAGE CLIP Koncert T’s Heat Transfer Papers and 3G JET-OPAQUE Heat Transfer Papers.
IMAGE CLIP Laser Dark Heat Transfer Papers are designed for the heat transfer of true, bright, full-color images with oil or oil-less laser color copiers, or color laser printers, to dark and bright-colored items including t-shirts, handbags, mouse pads, coasters, leather items, art papers and more. The product works on most fabrics, including cotton, polyester and 50-50 blends.
IMAGE CLIP Koncert T’s Heat Transfer Papers are designed for the heat transfer of a white image to pastel, dark and bright-colored items including t-shirts, handbags, mouse pads, coasters, leather items, art papers and more. IMAGE CLIP Koncert T’s works well on cotton, polyester, and 50-50 blends. Intricate and detailed lettering of even small print can be transferred as an image with no need to plotter cut and weed the image.
3G JET-OPAQUE Heat Transfer Papers are designed for transferring ink jet images to dark or other colored garments and substrates. The product offers a softer hand, better drape, and less dye migration on synthetic fabrics, combined with the same shelf-stability, reliable color reproduction, wash durability and plotter/cutter properties as the company’s existing JET-OPAQUE II product. It contains an opaque layer to hide the color of the substrate and allow for photo-quality transfers and can be printed with dye and pigment-based ink jets and solvent and eco-solvent inks.
“Neenah Paper launched its first IMAGE CLIP self-weeding heat transfer paper in 2005,” said associate marketing director Gerry Rector. “Since then, our research scientists have been exploring ways to make a self-weeded and polymer window-free transfer for dark garments to meet industry needs.”
