PIA /GATF Expands Conference on Variable Data
Headquartered in Sewickley, Pa., PIA /GATF’s (Printing Industries of America /Graphic Arts Technical Foundation) 6th annual Variable Data and Personalization Conference—scheduled for Nov. 4 to 6 in Phoenix—will feature an expanded array of topics.
“There are close to 50,000 digital presses in the [United States] and Canada, and owners are reporting that variable data is their most profitable segment. Our expanded content reflects that a lot of companies now have considerable experience under their belt,” said Jim Workman, vice president of training for PIA/ GATF.
The conference has been reorganized into three special seminar tracks: a “fundamentals” track for those relatively new to variable data; a “cross-media” track for more advanced practitioners; and a “business” track focusing on sales, marketing and performance-related issues. Topics will include workflow, pricing considerations, data management, collaborative selling, MIS and metrics, trigger marketing, sales compensation and selling to vertical markets. In addition, several case studies will examine variable data applications.
Two day-long programs will also be offered on Nov. 4: The Anatomy of a Variable Data Campaign and The Web-to-Print Symposium. A hands-on Web-to-Print Boot Camp has also been added for Nov. 2 to 3.
