Print+Promo, the leading source of business strategies for the distributor sales professional, recently concluded its second and final Distributor Connect of 2014 with rave reviews.
Distributor Connect pairs top-selling distributors with leading print and promotional product suppliers for one-on-one, 20-minute, pre-scheduled meetings held in private supplier suites. The November event took place at San Antonio's luxurious Hotel Contessa, the only four-diamond all-suite hotel on the Riverwalk.
From Wednesday through Friday, more than 60 industry professionals participated in discussions aimed to help substantially grow business. In addition to a Welcome Reception on the hotel's Atrium, attendees were treated to educational breakfast and lunch sessions featuring a list of speakers that included: David Dickerhoof, director of converting papers for Glatfelter, and S&S Activewear's vice president of sales, Mike Hanks, along with account executive, Tim Wozniak. The first full day of meetings was capped off with a private dinner at Zinc Bar & Bistro.
Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. "Distributor Connect is a great, new approach to share time with new and existing customers," said Dick Kline, vice president of distributor sales for Datatel Resources Corporation, Monaca, Pa. "Distributor Connect has finally provided an event that [gives] value to both the distributor and supplier. I feel this type of an event will provide all of us a good ROI."
Distributor attendees were also enthusiastic about the outcome of the San Antonio event. "Print+Promo [Distributor Connect] was very unique having both in one event," said Glenn Hammer, vice president of hospitality and promotional products at InnerWorkings Inc., Monterey, Calif. "The print people were new and exciting to expand my horizons. Cannot wait to start selling some new ideas."
Jeff Greenbury, president of NPN360, Wheeling, Ill., agreed. "It was a great event. I came back with a lot more information and excitement than I would have ever imagined," he said.
Other attendees stressed the importance of using time wisely. For Chip Schindler, member of Medford, New Jersey-based The Printing, Fulfillment and Mailing Group LLC, Distributor Connect was a smart investment. "We found these meetings to be a worthwhile investment of our time," he shared. "Our clients count on us to keep them on the cutting-edge of today's rapidly changing technology. Print+Promo gave us an opportunity to expand our knowledge base with top vendors in the field."
