Safeguard Adopts Acquisition Model as Corporate Growth Strategy
Safeguard Acquisitions Inc., an entity associated with Safeguard Business Systems and Deluxe Corp., has announced the acquisition of the substantial assets associated with Hammer’s Quality Business Systems (QBS), a 40-year-old independent distributor company in Helena, Mont.
On Dec. 30, Safeguard Acquisitions, Inc., completed the asset purchase of QBS and then sold the business on Jan. 3 to Greg and Vicki Schob, who have a 29-year tenure as Safeguard distributors. The Schobs retained the former owners of the business, Ed and Cathy Hammer, to assist with the transition, the operation and management of the business together, moving forward.
“The Hammers have served the Billings community with expertise and integrity for 40 years,” said Schob. “We are grateful to have their insight and experience on board while collaborating with the new brand initiatives of Safeguard.”
Safeguard recognizes today's lending environment can be challenging, even for experienced and successful small business owners like the Schobs. In response, it has made a bold commitment to its network by funding certain transactions to grow its system and increase Safeguard's market share.
“Our acquisitions program is unique,” said R. Scott Sutton, vice president of Safeguard Acquisitions, Inc. “The program we’ve developed and now launched shows our level of commitment to the Safeguard network.
“We are thrilled to have the QBS business as a part of the Safeguard organization,” Sutton continued. “The years of product and service leadership provided by QBS make it a great cultural fit for the Safeguard network."
Safeguard has taken a forward-thinking approach to help foster continued growth in a challenging economic and lending environment. As businesses look for an exit strategy and others look for financing to break into business ownership, Safeguard has positioned itself to connect both parties in a mutually beneficial way.
"We are extremely excited to bring QBS and Safeguard together under one roof,” said Schob. “With a combined 75 years of experience, we will bring the best service to businesses in the state of Montana.”
