Study Proves Powerful Profitability Tool For Smaller Printers
An important benchmarking tool for smaller printers, the new NAPL/NAQP Financial Benchmarking Study for the Quick and Small Commercial Printer, has been created specifically to enable printers with annual sales of less than $5 million compare their financial performance against detailed performance ratios of leading printing companies of similar size.
It was produced by the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) and sponsored by Xerox.
“This study offers a unique opportunity for small commercial and quick printers to compare their company’s performance against other firms of similar size, and to benchmark it against the best in the industry,” said NAPL President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph P. Truncale.
“The information they can derive from these comparisons can prove an essential tool for strategic planning, pricing, and increased profitability as our industry prepares to face new challenges brought by advanced technology and market transformation.”
Based on surveys from approximately 300 printers in the small and commercial printer segment, the more than 75-page study includes dozens of Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, and key ratio comparisons.
“As we begin to come out of the recession, many companies will need to review their pricing practices and other financial strategies,” said NAPL Senior Vice President Tim Fischer. “This study offers them an excellent vehicle for looking at what highly successful companies of similar size have done and determining how they can apply those leadership practices to their own businesses.”
In addition, the Financial Benchmarking Study for the Quick and Small Commercial Printers includes hard-hitting analysis by industry expert Larry Hunt, President of Larry Hunt Publications, Palm Harbor, Fla., of what it will take to survive in the printing industry during the coming decade.
The study is available for $225 ($155 for NAPL/NAQP members) and may be ordered online at www.napl.org/store (enter product code NQ1020) or by calling (800) 642-6275.
