Sun Chemical to Increase Heatset Ink and Rycoline Prices in North America
Parsippany, New Jersey-based Sun Chemical will implement a 6 percent price increase for heatset and directory inks in North America effective July 1.
Prices also will increase for all of Sun Chemical Rycoline blanket and roller washes, specialty solvents, isopropyl alcohol, alcohol replacement and aqueous coatings. The price of solvent-based washes will increase by 50 cents per gallon and aqueous coatings by 5 cents per pound.
The increasing costs of distillates, solvents, resins and pigment raw materials are key factors contributing to the price increase.
“We’re working to control our costs closely with our supply chain partners and to improve the efficiency of our internal operations,” said Dennis Sweet, vice president, product management, publications inks, Sun Chemical. “While these efforts have helped offset growing cost pressures, we can’t eliminate the need for a price increase at this time. We will continue to work on controlling our own costs closely with our supply chain partners, improve our internal operations, and develop new value-oriented products and services that can help improve customer productivity and grow their business.”
