Ward/Kraft Offers DNA Envelopes
Ward/Kraft, Ft. Scott, Kan., now produces a new sample transportation document to move DNA collection from one location to a testing lab and return it to the issuing authority. The patent-pending document includes a transport envelope, storage envelope, barcode integrated labels, cross reference numbering and locations for fingerprinting.
Various envelope designs are available, depending on the type of collection being transferred and the level of tamper-evident security needed. Online camera verification can be used to ensure accuracy of barcoding and numbering.
"Ward/Kraft has produced many types of pocket forms in the past, however, this application can open new doors for distributors in law enforcement, forensics, archeology or any application where samples need to be transported with the accuracy of bar coding," said Roger Buck, CDC, national sales manager, forms division. "We are also working on developing various methods of padded transport carriers that will open more markets to our customers," he added.
Ward/Kraft produces business documents, labels, plastic cards, promotional products, digital print, magnetic applications and imaging. The company has production facilities in Ft. Scott, Kan. and Fredericktown, Ohio.
