Dayton, Ohio-based WorkflowOne’s newly launched digital solutions business unit provides a dedicated network of equipment, services and personnel required to meet the company’s growing demand for digital and variable data printing, mailing and electronic communications solutions. It will also offer a virtual one-stop-shop for customers who want to take advantage of the latest technological solutions for marketing and transactional communications.
Tom Dailey, formerly general manager of the company’s billing solutions group, was named general manager of digital solutions, reporting to Michael Zawalski, president and CEO of WorkflowOne.
The business unit will unify the resources of WorkflowOne’s former billing solutions production facilities in Timonium, Md., and Salt Lake City, Utah, and its e-services team in Dallas with the company’s digital marketing service operation in Columbus, Ohio. These sites will serve as hubs for a digital solutions network that includes other company facilities as satellites, as well as certified digital trade partners.
“Customers are looking to us for advice on how to leverage the benefits of digital production and electronic distribution,” said Zawalski. “By unifying our own digital print resources, WorkflowOne will be better equipped to provide integrated solutions that support our clients’ marketing programs, on-demand printing and transactional document needs.”
On the basis of preliminary data through the third quarter of 2005, Strategies on Demand projected that digital print volume grew by 16 percent for the year—not as much as forecasted, but certainly a healthy growth rate in an industry facing 2 percent to 3 percent growth in overall demand for print. These figures suggest growing customer demand for the benefits and high response rates delivered by database-driven marketing campaigns and color-enhanced communications that are supported by digital and variable data printing.
WorkflowOne’s digital solutions business unit will help improve business processes through centralized operating platforms and infrastructure; standardized development tools; redundant capabilities in different geographic locations in case of power outages and natural disasters; and centralized management of, and sourcing to, WorkflowOne’s digital partner network.
