Acquisition and Anniversary News from Ennis

Midlothian, Texas-based Ennis announced the acquisition of Trade Envelopes, Carol Stream, Ill., in response to distributor requests for an envelope supplier to service the Midwest and Southeastern United States. Established in 1972, Trade Envelopes offers up to four-color process printing, lithography and flexography capabilities. With two full-service locations—one in Tullahoma, Tenn., and one in Carol Stream, Ill.—Trade Envelopes serves resellers across the nation. The acquisition by Ennis will provide the capital and customer base Trade Envelopes needs to grow and develop the wholesale envelope business in the area east of the Rockies. In Memoriam

Steven Philip Otto, a sales representative at Ennis’s facility in Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on June 20, 2007. Having also held positions at Wisconsin Business Forms/Northstar Computer Forms and Vanier Graphics, Otto’s career in the printing industry spanned 25 years. A statement released by the company read: “Ennis would like to express our deepest sympathies to his family in this difficult time. He was an asset to our company and the entire printing industry. Steve will be greatly missed.”

Ennis Welcomes Ainsworth

Headquartered in Midlothian, Texas, Ennis has added Tom Ainsworth to its sales team. Ainsworth previously worked for Continental Datalabel, Elgin, Ill., where he gained invaluable experience in the many facets of the label industry since his start in 1983. During his tenure with Continental Datalabel, Ainsworth served as regional sales manager for the Midwest and director of marketing. In Ainsworth’s new position, he will serve as director of sales for labels and tags, focusing on educating distributors about Ennis’ product offerings, while growing tag and label sales in the Wolfe City, Texas, and DeWitt, Iowa facilities.
