Labels are easy to take for granted. For some consumers, they're nothing more than a vehicle for nutritional information or window dressing for their preferred bottle of wine or jar of gravy. Deer Park, New York-based Overnight Labels recently partnered with a manufacturer of vitamin supplement to donate 90,000 labels for its product Children’s Multi+Cal/Mag to benefit Nourish America (www.nourishamerica.org). Nourish America is a Charity Navigator, award-winning non-profit organization committed to improving the health of children and seniors in America who are at risk for malnutrition and vitamin deficiency. The programs provide daily nutritional support through vitamin supplementation for those at risk, including children, the poor, the elderly and the homeless. Said Michael A. Overnight Labels, Deer Park, N.Y., recently showcased its line of earth-friendly labeling options at the All Things Organic tradeshow, held in Chicago, April 27-29, at McCormick Place. The line includes: shrink sleeves; neck bands; multi-packs made from 100 percent compostable polylactic acid (PLA), orientated polystyrene or polyethylene terephthalate glycol, which offer better recyclability than PVC; flexible packaging made from PLA; clear and white labels made from PLA; semi-gloss white labels made from 30 percent post-consumer fiber; and tree-free white made from bamboo, bagasse and cotton linters. The Organic Trade Association accepted Deer Park, New York-based Overnight Labels as a new associate member. Membership was granted due to the company’s alliance with businesses in the organic trade, as well as its ability to provide environmentally friendly printing processes, including water-based inks, aqueous coatings and environmentally friendly substrates. Overnight Labels supplies labels, shrink sleeves, neck bands, multi-packs and flexible packaging to markets such as natural and organic food, beverage and personal care.
