Five years after introducing Saphira Aqueous Coatings to the market, Heidelberg recently began manufacturing the coatings locally at its new Hi-Tech Coatings plant, located in the Detroit suburb of Taylor, Mich. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening was held Aug. 30.

Chicago-based Dscoop (Digital Solutions Cooperative), an independent global community of HP Graphic Arts customers, recently expanded into Asia-Pacific; Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); and Latin America, prompting the formation of a global board of directors. This board will bring together leaders from each region to oversee the actions and events that affect the 6,000 Dscoop members worldwide.

In a move designed to realign its manufacturing platform to meet the needs of a changing market, Mohawk Fine Papers has announced it seeks to close the Beckett Mill in Hamilton, Ohio at the end of the year.

Vistaprint N.V. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Albumprinter, a privately held Dutch photo book and photo product company, for 60 million euros payable at closing and up to an additional 5 million euros based on a performance based earn-out. This acquisition is in line with Vistaprint's recently announced strategy to be more proactive in its evaluation of acquisition opportunities in adjacent markets.

ACS, a Xerox Company, announced its intent to acquire the Italian-based, multi-lingual customer care firm, XL World, further expanding its business process outsourcing capabilities across Europe.   

Located in Venlo, Netherlands, Vistaprint N.V., an online provider of professional marketing products and services to micro businesses and the home, announced pending litigation in the case of ColorQuick LLC v. Vistaprint Limited, originally filed in July 2009 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, has concluded with the jury finding in favor of Vistaprint Limited, the company's Bermuda-based subsidiary.
