Quad/Graphics confirmed it will cut between 50 and 60 jobs at the Kerper Boulevard plant in Dubuque by the end of the year.

The company cut 24 jobs at the Dubuque plant in May and said it was "looking at ways to maximize its efficiency and competitive platform," according to Claire Ho, director of corporate communications.

Ho said the company will offer current employees jobs at other plants around the country and if they are unwilling to accept those positions, they will be offered a separation package including severance pay, extension of health care benefits and assistance in finding a new job.

Quad/Graphics, Sussex, Wis., the largest privately held printer in the United States, and Worldcolor, Montreal, the second largest provider of print, digital and related services in the Americas, announced the companies' boards of directors unanimously approved a definitive arrangement agreement whereby Quad/Graphics will acquire Worldcolor, enhancing Quad/Graphics' position as a leader in the printing industry with increased efficiencies, greater geographic reach and broader product and service scope.

Headquartered in Sussex, Wis., QuadTech, a worldwide leader and innovator of press control technology, has filed a legal action in the U.S. district court (Eastern District of Pennsylvania) against Q.I. Press Controls for infringing on QuadTech's U.S. patent covering register control technology. The complaint alleges that Q.I. Press Controls' register control product (mRC), sold in both mark and markless mode, infringes on a U.S. Patent. The founders and owners of Q.I. Press Controls are former QuadTech employees.
