“Making money is art and working is art and good business
is the best art.”
Andy Warhol

This year’s top distributor issue doesn’t offer up too many surprises in regards to who the top dogs are. But this year’s issue reveals the print distribution industry is flourishing. While the winds of change continue to blow, distributors have hoisted their sales, positioned themselves with the breeze at their backs and are moving towards the future at a successful clip.
The question then can be asked, “what are the keys to this continued growth, particularly in an industry touted as being on the verge of a demise?” There are several factors which can account for growth and success, and can clearly be witnessed in BFL&S’s top five distributors: strong leadership; good business practices; large product offerings; and lastly, the ability to bend with new technology and trends.
There was a great deal of uncertainty at the beginning of this year. But as our statistics show, come the closing of 2006, distributors can prop their feet up, (if even just for a moment), pat themselves on the back and toast to a job well done.
