“Rest in reason;
move in passion.”
KAHLIL GIBRAN,
LEBANESE POET, AUTHOR & ARTIST
(1883-1931)
How do you motivate your team when you lose the ability to motivate yourself? This is a tough question for management to tackle, especially when it requires not only a keen evaluation of your staff, but also serious self-evaluation.
Recognizing when you are simply going through the motions can be eye-opening and good motivation to take action—for both your own sake and for the sake of your team.
One way to stir your motivations is too find your passion. It is a powerful emotion and can be found lurking behind everything you do. For instance, it can be found in that moment when you close the big sale, create marketing and promotional campaigns and exceed expectations in the completion of a project. But if you discover the passion for your work requires a serious boost, then search for joy outside the office walls. Look within your hobbies, creative endeavors, relationships and personal goals. These might be the sparks necessary to reignite the inspiration in your professional life as well.
Positive, passionate energy has an infectious quality about it, and rediscovering this spirit within yourself will have a domino effect on those around you.
