You know what a blank sheet of paper looks like? Nothing. It is blank. (Boy, I am smart, huh?) But this paper is wide open for possibilities. How does your blank sheet of paper look? How do you want it to look? How many of your current employees are A-plus quality and irreplaceable? Do you want to define the moment or let the moment define you? The choice is simple and it's yours to make.
Maybe you're content with the way things are. Maybe you wish some of the things on your list would go away, so you can read more posts like this and then do nothing—you know, the same 'ol, same 'ol? Then ball up your paper and throw it away. However, don't contact me as I am not interested in such a mindset. I want to connect with the people who are scribbling, drawing and making notes on this blank sheet of paper—the people who feel inspired to do something after reading this post. Even if these people aren't sure where to start, that's okay; at least they are willing to try.
So, please remember this: Character in life is not simply about getting better, but about having the courage to make the time and investment and taking the first step. Character is in the trying. Okay, the challenge is out there.
Don't be left with a blank sheet of paper and a "someday aisle" mindset. Let's talk about your once blank and now scribbled on piece of paper. Have a great week, everyone.
