Question: I have recently purchased a new computer with Microsoft Office 365 which includes Windows 10. Why won’t my QuickBooks work now?
Answer: Microsoft Office 365 is a new licensing version of the Microsoft Office with which we are all familiar.
There are two ways to purchase it:
- Web-based which is accessed online
OR
- Installed locally on your computer that can be accessed directly on your computer offline
QuickBooks Pro or Premier will not work with the web-based version of Microsoft Office 365.
The following years of QB Desktop should run with Microsoft Office 365 installed locally on your computer (not web-based): 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018.
If you have the web-based 365, you should explore the version housed locally on your computer.
If you are running a version of QuickBooks prior to 2015, you will want to upgrade to a current year.
Technology can be both a blessing and a curse!
