The Ben Franklin Honor Society of Printing Industries of America, Sewickley, Pa., inducted various standouts, including Roger Buck, marketing director for The Flesh Co., St. Louis, at its annual induction ceremony that was held in Chicago.

PIA Supports Act Designed to Thwart 'Patent Trolls'

The act, introduced by House Judiciary Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte and a bipartisan group of co-sponsors, aims to address the recent abuses of the legal system by patent-assertion entities, or "patent trolls."

Printing Industries of America Seeks to Invalidate Workflow Patents

Printing Industries of America filed petitions last week with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in an effort to nullify two digital workflow patents that have been the basis for lawsuits against printing companies. The petitions seek an inter partes review by the USPTO of the patents’ validity.

The draft of a final rule from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been sitting at the White House for more than a year, and the Printing Industries of America and the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association had one question for the White House during a meeting last week: Where’s our rule?
