On May 12, Badger Tag & Label held a grand opening, from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m., for its new facility at N507 Badger Way in Random Lake, Wis. Following the ribbon cutting, which took place at 10 a.m., members of Badger Tag & Label’s management team gave guided tours, explained highlights of the new facility and detailed Badger Tag & Label’s capabilities. The new facility serves as Badger Tag & Label’s main office, as well as the production areas for digital and flexographic printing, and the rewind operations.
Representatives from Keller Inc., the design-build general contractor of the construction project, Badger Tag & Label’s customers, Random Lake Chamber of Commerce, Town of Sherman Board and Village of Random Lake Board members, as well as the general public were part of the grand opening celebration. The new 22,000-square-foot building is located just east of Highway 57, off of County Road RR, east of Random Lake. The building is set on 12 acres on Badger Way, the new driveway custom named after the company. This is Badger Tag & Label’s second facility in the Random Lake area; it continues to utilize its original 30,000-square-foot building at 83 Bentert Street for its prepress department, letterpress printing and finishing operations.
In addition to the main/corporate offices and production areas, the new building also has warehouse/storage and receiving areas. The production area houses four flexographic presses for printing custom tags and labels, digital equipment and plotter cutter utilized for specialty projects, and the rewind machines.
The new building was constructed with potential future expansion in mind. Also with insight for future growth, the land it sits on allows for sale of select portions for construction by other businesses. A retention pond was also part of the current project.
“We’re already utilizing the new facility, and the expanded space has been instrumental in our continued growth,” said Kevin Kalkofen, vice president for Badger Tag & Label. “The grand opening introduced this state-of-the art building to our local community. Over the next few months, we’ll also be extending private tour invitations to our customers throughout the nation.”
