Diversified Labeling Solutions Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Diversified Labeling Solutions (DLS), Itasca, Ill., recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. In 1985, founder and owner Bob Hakman identified a growing demand for barcode pressure-sensitive products, and formed the company, aiming to provide high-quality, custom-printed tape to the distributor market.

The company started with a 1,550-square-foot facility. Today, DLS has more than 180 team members and five locations—Illinois, Georgia, Texas, Nevada and, most recently, Ohio—with more than 358,000 square feet of production space.

Not only has the company grown in size, it also has grown its portfolio, beyond thermal-transfer pressure-sensitive labels, to include: decorative prime (full-color) labels, digital labels, flexible packaging, warehouse labeling and installation, security labels, UL/CSA and GHS labels.

In celebration of the 30-year milestone, DLS recently held on-site gatherings and lunches for all employees at each of its facilities.
