Pinnacle Press, St. Louis—a Kohler Print Group company—is one of the first book component printers to offer Trans-Kote Nylon/MR Laminating Film for paperback book covers. The new finish complements the scuff-free finish for paperbacks that Pinnacle Press helped bring to market more than two years ago, and offers a new premium option for book publishers who want the best possible look and durability for their product.
Trans-Kote Nylon/MR laminating film is a super-clear, nylon-base film that resists curling. The laminate provides one of the most durable and attractive finishes publishers can get, and ensures high quality from press to shelf. “The new Trans-Kote Nylon/MR finish addresses both scuffing and curling issues for book publishers,” said Tom Rohlfing, president. “Scuffing and curling have long been the two major issues with matte paperback covers. This product allows designers to get very creative while ensuring the integrity of the book all the way through the sales channel.”
Trans-Kote Nylon/MR laminating film, manufactured by Transilwrap of Franklin Park, Ill., is available for book jackets, maps and posters. It offers a superior scuff protection that is water, oil and alkali resistant, and is an alternative to lower-cost film that does not offer curl resistance. The laminate also can be die-cut and is easy to apply.
