How Amazon Thinks It Can Get You to Hit 'Buy' in 2 Seconds or Less (Using Augmented Reality)

Amazon's recently released mobile app came with a new feature that's meant to make you buy your entire shopping list with as few clicks as possible. 

The new app for the iPhone (Amazon hasn't announced plans for any other devices yet) comes with an augmented-reality scanner. Dubbed Flow, it's the new iteration of a feature called "Snap It," which let users search for items—mostly things like books, video games and CDs—by taking a photo of them.

Canadian police on Jan. 31 seized something they had been hunting for years: a printing press capable of making some of the most sophisticated counterfeit American $20 bills investigators had ever seen.

As part of a joint action with the U.S. Secret Service, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police confiscated a press and enough specially watermarked paper to create more than $200 million.

Verso Paper Warns It May Not Complete NewPage Merger

Verso Paper says it may be unable to complete a $1.4 billion acquisition of its rival NewPage Holdings because of low participation in a crucial exchange offer, in which the company would exchange existing debt for another class of debt.

Based on the amount of debt offered up in the early part of the exchange period, Verso Paper says it is concerned that the effort won't succeed.

New Leaf Paper Launches Leaf Reincarnation 100

New Leaf Paper, Oakland, Calif., has set a new environmental standard with the national launch of New Leaf Reincarnation 100, the first coated paper made in the U.S. from 100 percent post-consumer recycled waste (PCW). Most recycled, coated papers made in the U.S. fall well below this standard, containing only 10 percent to 30 percent PCW.
