Question: My accountant wants me to start using QuickBooks Premier instead of industry software. Why?
Answer: As described in another blog, QuickBooks Premier works very well for our industry, but your accountant may or may not know that. Likely, your accountant knows how to work within QuickBooks since it is the No. 1 accounting software for small to medium-sized businesses. Having your accountant familiar with your software means it is easier for him or her to spot errors or even possible fraud within your company. Making things easier also could translate into lower accounting fees.
Finally, familiarity with software also leads to greater transparency. If you should ever want to sell your business or apply for a loan, having books that are more readily understood adds greater value—perhaps to your overall company worth.
