Miles Wadsworth, 32
President
Logo Mats LLC, LaGrange, Ga.
In seven short years, Miles Wadsworth has gone from management trainee to company president—a feat that is rarely matched in today’s corporate world. Let’s rewind. As a college student studying business administration at Auburn University, Wadsworth was recruited by Mountville Mills, the parent company of Logo Mats LLC, to be a management trainee.
“This position was attractive because you were able to come in and learn many sides of a business before being placed in your role,” he reflected.
During that time, Wadsworth received the tools to run a business, and was initially placed in the company division that services promotional products and print companies, Logo Mats LLC. His transformation to leader was not immediate. He worked the ranks from sales representative to sales manager, before becoming president in 2015. Under his guidance, Logo Mats LLC’s sales continue to climb.
Why he loves the industry: I love the creativity and working with companies that are passionate about marketing and brand management. Helping others gain exposure for their brand is rewarding to me and our business.
Age roadblocks and advantages: The biggest challenge is not having the wisdom at this point that other executives may have had over a career. While I am experienced in the industry, only certain knowledge comes with time and decision-making over issues or direction of where to go next. With that said, it is also an advantage to go out and try to grow sales and a brand with a new or younger perspective.
His biggest career influence: David Hart, CEO of Mountville Mills, is my biggest influence. David gave me the mentoring and guidance that comes from a career of leading a corporation. He has helped me apply my talents with wisdom to guide our company to the next level as a supplier to the promotional products industry.
His most meaningful business accomplishment: The most meaningful accomplishment in my career so far is growing our company to become a supplier of the year candidate. Our company is committed to providing the highest-quality products with the fastest lead times in the industry. We operate with our customers’ best interests in mind. We have a 100-percent customer satisfaction guarantee that we stand behind. We believe in loyalty and trust, and find this is the best way to run a business. With these processes in place and a sales team that is willing and ready to meet with customers on any week, we have grown our sales year in and year out. Because of these efforts, we have won supplier of the year for our category of “Mats” [for] four straight years.
His differentiating factor: We are investing in technology that allows us to turn proofs, orders and products in unprecedented time frames. Today’s customer wants products immediately, and we are trying our best to accommodate that request. I am personally committed to our company, employees, product line and customers. I invest in the growth of this industry by serving on a board and taking an opportunity to mentor new people. I welcome the opportunity to learn and grow.
What he does for fun: I like to spend time with my wife, Katy, and son, Sanders. I am an avid sports fan and spend as much time as possible cheering on my Auburn Tigers.
