A New World Order
Document Management World fine-tunes program for 1999
By Misty Byers
You asked for it, you got it.
From non-conflicting conference and show floor hours to distributor-specific programming, Document Management World '99, which runs April 20-21 at the Rosemont (Ill.) Convention Center in conjunction with IBFI FormsTech '99 (April 18-21), has been re-tooled to satisfy distributors' demands.
While DMW/FormsTech '98 at-tempted to bring the entire document management industry together in one all-encompassing event, this year's show divides distributor programming from manufacturer programming--making the event invaluable to each without alienating one from the other.
Bill Norton, DMW show director, noted that DMW's distributor-specific educational programming is a direct result of feedback from distributors.
"Distributors identified the topics of interest to them--and distributors put it together," he said, crediting the 1999 DMW Distributor Conference Advisory Board for the program.
Developed in the spring of 1998, more than two dozen forms industry professionals answered DMW's call and joined forces to develop a series of distributor-specific conference sessions.
The result is programming that will help keep distributors ahead of market trends, increasing profits and developing successful business practices. Sixteen conference sessions divided into four tracks reveal technological advancements, sales and marketing tactics, business management techniques and information on the newest and hottest products in the industry.
Session topics include
• Selling Promotional Products
• Digital Printing
• Direct Mail
• Small Business Management
• Commercial Printing
A concurrent Quick and Small Commercial Printers' Conference, developed by Print Tec network, will also be offered. The conference will include sessions covering variable imaging, hiring and the sale of digital color output.
Attendees can also attend the In-ternational Publishing Manage-ment Association's Chicago Chapter Educational Conference, featuring sessions on prepress, mailing and in-plant management issues.
