Flint Group Introduces Lithocure Premium™ in Europe and Asia
Flint Group is introducing the new Lithocure Premium™ in Europe and Asia. This new generation UV offset system with outstanding print and press performance is suitable for most label substrates and narrow web applications.
“Offset printing is a balance of several parameters,” said Par Olsson, product manager for Flint Group Narrow Web. “Fully optimizing this balance can seem complicated, and printers sometimes feel it’s a moving target―especially when maintaining print quality at high speeds. We have developed Lithocure Premium™ to become a cornerstone of a stable UV offset process.”
Olsson continued, “The offset ink is a key element and this ink raises the bar considerably. With Lithocure Premium™ printers can achieve robust, reliable and high performance results without changing other press or printing parameters.”
Using Lithocure Premium™ is expected to result in higher productivity, better print quality over long runs and truly superior print quality no matter the substrates. Flint Group received very positive feedback during beta testing at printers around the world.
Lithocure Premium™ offers the following benefits:
• Maximized water/fount window and stability over press hours/shifts
• Less prone to show scumming/toning at demanding designs and varied press room conditions
• Good adhesion properties to a wide range of materials
• Good cure response and improved scratch resistance
• Superb print quality also at high printing speed
• Superb color strength
• Outstanding lithographic properties
The new Lithocure Premium™ system is designed to be used in narrow web UV rotary offset systems, but also can be used in UV rotary letterpress systems. Inks are available in 4-color process, Pantone® basic shades, high resistance colors and opaque white.
In North America an equivalent technology will be introduced under the brand name Lithokett.
“Lithokett is based on similar technology but using slightly different raw materials, still exhibiting impressive offset/lithographic properties,” explained U.S. Product Manager Tom Hammer. “As a global responsible supplier, we have full awareness of local regulations and have selected raw materials that are fully approved both in North America as well as in the rest of the world. Product performance is second to none, but we want the products branded separately for full transparency for our globally active customers.”
