ImageSmith Communications Certified by Forestry Organization
ImageSmith Communications, located in Arden, N.C., has been awarded chain-of-custody (COC) certification from The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
As a result, ImageSmith clients now may brand their printed materials with the appropriate FSC, SFI and PEFC logos as a mark of their commitment to using sustainable materials in their marketing collateral.
To receive the certification, ImageSmith showed its effective tracking system. The system identifies the amount of certified, uncertified and recycled content in the forest products purchased and used in the company’s printing production processes. It guarantees that products within this COC have been manufactured from timber grown, managed and harvested under rigid environmental protocols.
The company’s sustainability program is ongoing. Some key points of the company’s program include: maintaining tri-certification from major forest certification organizations; offering customers a conscientious choice of COC-certified products; reducing the use of resources and production waste through operational excellence, materials reuse, recycling and energy conservation; and making strategic investments in environmental initiatives and internal audits to enhance sustainability on an ongoing basis.
