MGI Introduces New Digital Card Press
Located in Ivry/Seine, France, MGI has introduced a new synthetic digital press—the PlastiCard—that enables any commercial, in-plant printer, service bureau or quick-printer to offer a wide variety of high-quality, four-color process card products, including plastic, ID, membership, time and labor tracking, loyalty, pre-paid and access security, as well as luggage tags.
The PlastiCard is an innovation in the world of small and medium-sized runs of digital printing on synthetic materials, such as PVC, polyester, PET, polycarbonates, Lexan and Teslin, and can produce 2,000 cards per hour.
Additional capabilities include large-format printing, 13x19˝ products (printed 21 cards to 24 cards up), resolutions of 2400 dpi and 150 lpi, variable data imaging, bar coding, auto-numbering, magnetic stripes, photos and ID pictures, Harlequin-based RIP, a color calibration station and Pantone-certified colors.
