NEPA Carton & Carrier Upgraded its Presses
NEPA Carton & Carrier, Inc., a full-service carton manufacturer specializing in difficult and unusual and box designs, is enjoying a significant savings thanks to production efficiency and waste reduction since it upgraded its presses with EPG's Adelphi AutoSet Presetting System.
The family-owned Moosic, Pennsylvania-based company now achieves accurate color more quickly after start-up, producing higher-quality finished cartons, and uses less carton board material. The reduction in makeready time has also enabled a faster turnaround. The EPG Adelphi AutoSet Presetting System quickly achieves uniform color across the sheet at start-up. It's designed for use on non-EPG ink control systems, allowing printers operating any press to achieve more color control capability. Adelphi AutoSet presets jobs from NEPA's prepress department.
NEPA Carton & Carrier's core business is beverage packaging, but the company also produces cartons for food, cosmetics, P-O-P displays, and other retail goods. Its two six-color KBA Planeta presses with UV and aqueous-coating capabilities operate seven days a week, running carton quantities from 5,000 into the millions. An in-house art department offers graphic design services, plate-making, and digital proofing. Superior customer service, high-quality, color-rich products, and fast turnaround are integral to the success of the company.
"We were interested in presetting to help us save time and reduce board waste. Integrating it into our operations was the next logical step in advancing our business," said Michael Collins, president, NEPA Carton & Carrier, Inc. Collins read about Adelphi AutoSet in the trade media, followed up with EPG, and was impressed with the possibilities. Once the decision had been made to purchase a system, the installation took only a few days and was seamless, he says. "Adelphi AutoSet is very user-friendly, so our learning curve was brief, and positive results were apparent immediately. The upgrade saved us time by getting us to color more quickly, and it reduced waste. We love it!"
