No More Tears!
Tru·Tech opens the door to a world of opportunities for manufacturers
It's not very often that a revolutionary product comes along and shakes up an industry. However, now is one of those times: A new tear-resistant paper has been introduced by Tru·Tech Fine Papers.
"We've created a new category: real paper that's tear-resistant," noted Mike Mainthow, general manager at Long Island City, N.Y.-based Tru·Tech.
He explained that Tru·Tech paper is created by employing a patented, environmentally friendly, water-based adhesion process that creates a paper/film/paper construction.
Mainthow said that because Tru·Tech's surface is genuine paper, it doesn't suffer from the drawbacks of synthetics. "It can accept a higher temperature range than synthetics and it can be laser-printed. Most importantly, it can be printed without using any special inks," he said.
He noted that Tru·Tech can be embossed, foil stamped, diecut, perfed and spot-coated or UV laminated without primers. The paper can also be made water resistant, and even lightweight Tru·Tech can be made 100 percent opaque for document security requirements.
