Proforma Inducts Inaugural Member into the Proforma Hall of Fame at 2011 Convention
The Proforma Hall of Fame was introduced at the 2011 Proforma Convention and Family Reunion in New Orleans on July 26. With a long history of success and overall emphasis on “family,” the Hall of Fame was created to recognize members of the Proforma family that have gone above and beyond as business people, mentors, motivators and innovators.
“Proforma’s Hall of Fame will recognize owners who have paved the way for other owner’s success,” said Greg Muzzillo, founder of Cleveland-based Proforma. “It’s what family is all about.”
John Vento was honored and remembered as he became the inaugural inductor into the Proforma Hall of Fame. Vento joined the Proforma family in 1988, and for more than 20 years he played an active role in the company, becoming a member of Proforma’s first Million Dollar Club, the first member of Proforma’s Multi-Million Dollar Club and serving as a pioneer for the Proforma Owner Advisory Council (OAC).
Vento turned to Proforma after serving as a senior executive at the Burroughs Corp. for 30 years. He had little experience in the industry and no customer base, but was able to quickly grow a multi-million dollar business which set a high precedent for other owners to follow.
“It is very appropriate for John Vento to be the first inductee into the Proforma Hall of Fame,” said Muzzillo. “John provided me with sound advice during some key developmental years in Proforma’s history, and more than anything he was a true friend.”
