Irvine, California–based Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS) just launched a new document security authentication solution exclusively for its e-STUDIO family of products: e-BRIDGE SmartCard. Based on proven current-generation personal identity card technology, e-BRIDGE SmartCard allows businesses to keep sensitive documents from being seen, exposed or misrouted, by requiring an authorized user to swipe a personalized access card to release documents from the printing queue.
“The e-BRIDGE SmartCard answers the call from business[es] for increased document security and privacy, while not being overly complex to deploy or use day-to-day,” said Kay Fernandez, director, product and solutions marketing for TABS.
TABS’ new e-BRIDGE SmartCard authentication peripheral is a two-part system that uses a contactless Identity Card reader that supports both HID iClass and MIFARE Classic access cards. The solution connects easily via USB, and can be configured for custom levels of security tailored to the needs of an individual business.
