Ward/Kraft’s New Cost-Effective Security Features for Long-Run Labels
Ft. Scott, Kansas-based Ward/Kraft has expanded its long-run label offerings with cost-effective security features ranging from simple—yet effective—options to ultra-complex anti-fraud labeling solutions. Customers can now choose from anti-fraud deterrent technologies for face stock printing, as well as embedded deterrent substrate solutions.
The suite of anti-fraud solutions gives distributors the most effective range of options in the long-run label market.
Face stock printing options include chemical sensitivity coatings, five copy resistant stains, embedded security fibers, toner adhesion coatings and custom watermarking. Embedded solutions now feature thread that embeds structured magnetic threads into paper label substrates as the label paper is made. Embedded solutions also feature security threads made from polyester, metalized film, de-metalized film, magnetic and fiber optic materials. Another embedded option integrates an invisible mark into the paper which appears when the label is scanned with a special pen.
Finally, the company is offering machine-readable taggants that allow equipment such as printers to communicate with a host device to suspend printing until the label taggant is recognized and accepted.
