Xerox's MPS Reigns Supreme
Xerox Corporation continues its managed print services (MPS) leadership reign.
According to research firm IDC's recent Worldwide and U.S. Outsourced Print and Document Services Forecast and Analysis1, the company is the front-runner in the global managed print services market based on worldwide revenue for 2009.
The IDC report, which analyzes document outsourcing vendors across a number of segments including MPS and business process outsourcing (BPO) services, states the worldwide revenue for the MPS market was $7.78 billion in 2009, representing growth of 8.1 percent. Xerox captured the largest market share amongst competing vendors with 48.5 percent.
"Xerox's sizeable market share lead can be attributed to its efforts in
extending traditional managed print services across the enterprise to include
not only the office, but in-house production print and mobile worker support,"
said Michael Orasin, research manager at IDC.
